Today's practice was nearly the same, except a few bpm faster on the single-stroke roll lesson. Also, played an exercise on the pad from the Drumeo SSR course. Played Down in the Bottom at 100% speed and was short of perfect. Still some work to go.
Then one thing different. Had been playing Happy at half-speed along with a cover version. Today, opted for Weird Al's version, Tacky. Shorter by about a minute, with just one bridge on the low tom instead of two. Today, set the playback speed to 75%, which would be 120 bpm, and got by OK. Short of perfect on this one, too. But several points in the song sounded to my ears pretty close to pro-level correct. It was still more amateur than not, but with brief periods of pretty good. Anyway, a step forward.
