Six-minute Drum Pad Practice Workout to Get Your Hand Speed to 200 BPM
Remaining at 90 (warmup) and 130 (workout) for the 3rd day. The 90 is no trouble, and the 130 is no trouble for the right hand. Yesterday, I saw two separate YouTube coaches say that working the left hand 3 times as much as the right is the way to get it up to speed. One other piece of advice was to do the left and right simultaneously and consciously work on making the left as identical as possible to the right, from grip to stroke.

On Exercise #3, I'm fine at half speed (40 BPM), passable at 50, and not good enough at 60, so full speed is out of the question for now. Do it again tomorrow.
First, practiced to a 100 BPM metronome and didn't quite score 100, but did OK. Then put on the 117 BPM song at 80%, and played as well as a beginner could be expected to after 3 months of lessons. Starting to throw in a crash at what seem to be appropriate points, even though they're not on the original.
Tacky (Happy)
First, practiced to an 80 BPM metronome (half speed) and did just fine. Then put on the video at the same 80% as the previous song, and just for a moment, felt like I was going full speed and keeping up for a few bars. Nope, just 80%, faster than you're used to, but still not full speed. By the end of the 1st chorus, I was reaching for the mouse to slow it down to 65%, which is more my speed at this point. Also, began working on the bridge yesterday, and today the last 13 or 14 bars were fine, as long as you weren't expecting me to do anything with my left hand. Kick and high/low tom were OK.
