If there's one thing I wish I'd understood before beginning drum lessons at age 66, it was this: "Don't aim for mastery -- aim for curiosity." I've been enjoying myself ever since.

Two steps backward
A cat I cared for died, and I began taking sertraline again. Next thing I know, it's Sunday and I've skipped practicing two days in a row. Lethargy and inertia. At least I didn't skip tonight.
