On the first of a new month, here's what I've been up to.
I do something drum-related every day, whether it's formal practice or watching Drumeo Method, or a YouTube instructional video. Now it's enjoyable, not being locked into a practice schedule. If it means I'll never master the instrument, I'm OK with it.
I understand the amount of practice that is required to get really good at the rudiments, and it just doesn't seem worth it. Curiosity is satisfied, and self-imposed stress is minimized. It's a path that veers away from professionalism, but slowly turns toward continued interest in lessons.
